How do you board up a window when you have aluminium siding?

If I had wood siding this wouldn't be an issue but my house is brick and aluminium. The store was out of those "hurricane clips" and I'd really rather not ruin the siding if at all possible.

  1. Cut plywood till it fits inside the window frame tightly. Then duck tape the edges to the sides. The wind pushes so it should hold it in tighter as it blows harder.Or if you have the bucks get some turnbuckle type jacks and use them to hold the plywood in.The only reason people put the plywood completely over the window frame and all is it is easier that way.
  2. Screw the plywood on to the brick molding area of trim around the window. Do not fool around with any clipping or whatever. You are trying to protect the window from being DESTROYED. Caulk the screwholes later. Get a grip. The wind driven pieces of debris are terrible for windows to survive in and they cost thousands to replace.
