What materials would I need to create a working solar panel out of aluminium cans?

I watched a television show that had a young boy who made a solar powered heater out of aluminium cans, an old radiator and other things. So I'd just like to know what materials are needed to create this type of solar panel.

2. could you give the name of the show? I can see how a solar powered steam engine could be made from those items, then connected to a generator to make electricity. But not photosynthesis. I could be wrong -- post the link
