Is it safe to put aluminium foil in a George Foreman grill?
I've been thinking of putting aluminium foil above and below my food when cooking to try and stop the grill getting so dirty, but I don't know if it's safe or not.

- I would not do it. The tin foild would likely ruin the teflon coating. The ONLY way to clean those things is when they are still warm... if it's gotten cold, plug it in to heat up and THEN start wiping.
- Since the George Foreman cooks with heat and not microwaves, I see no reason why you can't use aluminum foil. Keep in mind that the aluminum foil will act as a heat sink and take some of the heat away. This will cause longer cooking times
- I am a regular user of the G.F Grill. I love cooking steaks and even porkchops on it. A cleanup suggestion when using it for messy foods is when you take the food off of it, take 2 WET paper towels and set them on the surface and close it. Before they are cool or dry, take them off and gently wipe the surface. The steam produced loosens the mess and things come right off without the use of cleansers. As far as tin-foil. My roommate does not eat meat, but does eat Fish. He actually takes the fish and makes a little steamer pocket out of tin foil, fills it with the fish and some seasonings and puts it on the George Foreman. He has been doing this for nearly two years and I see no negative effects to it. I tried cooking a pork chop with it using tin foil and the foil stuck to the meat a little, but it came out pretty good and clean. Just make sure the tin foil is open at the bottom end to let the juices drip out in true George Foreman Grill fashion..
