What was it that happened that to the Reynold's metal company that it had 2 become a super fund site?

I am trying to understand what happened that the EPA had to Issue a Cleanup Decision for Reynolds Metals Superfund Site? If I'm in the wrong categroy can someone tell me which i should put this question in?

1. The EPA found a lot of toxic waste at an old factory site of REynolds Metals. Going through the court system as to how much RM has to pay to clean it up.
