Will airport customs stop a check in luggage that contains a smal box wrapped in aluminium foil?

i have a bb gun inside my check in luggage and i gift wrapped it in aluminium foil so i was wondering will there be problems with airport customs upon leaving the country?

1. if its being checked you shouldnt have a problem. they might ask you what it is. worst case the will take your bag apart and make you repack it which sucks but just give yourself extra time to deal with customs. although ive never checked a fire arm over country boarders they might have different laws. you can call the airline and they should be able to give you all the info you need on the question.
2. It would be dangerous - you could get into some major trouble there. Don't do it. People have been harrassed for buying candy and Harry Potter books by customs guards.
