Hi, i have a basic electrical ovan n Can i use tin tray or aluminium foil to bake in electrical ovan? as i read in some book that aluminium foil cannot be used in electrical ovan, n what type of ovan does chefs in TV cook shows use? tks

- You cannot use aluminum foil in a microwave or a convection oven that utilizes microwave technology. However, it is perfectly safe to use in an electric oven or a gas oven.
- You can use it. Electrical ovens are grounded, except for the heating element, which is coated in a ceramic insulator. It's safe.
- I have a regular electric stove and oven and cook using aluminum foil in the oven often,,,,no problem,,,,,tin, steel or aluminum trays are also OK. The oven racks are made of steel.
- Yes, of course. Conventional ovens use heat (infrared) which has no issues with metal. Microwaves on the other hand use RF electromagnetic fields, which interact with metal objects in strange ways... making for endless You Tube content (and possibly fried magnetron tubes).
