How much do Structural Engineers charge for steel beam calculations?
Public Comments
- Those calculations, establish 4,500 kg/cm^2 for traction stresses
- The rate that an engineer will charge will vary considerably based on where the engineer is located, what the experience of the engineer is, and whether the engineer is a licensed engineer in their locale. The engineers I have worked with would charge anywhere from $50 USD and up per hour, with most over $100 USD per hour.
- Our company has a billable rate of $120/ hr for a project engineer. If you also needed engineering drawings and the calculations stamped by a licensed engineer, it should cost more because of the liability exposure. It depends on how much effort is involved i.e. complexity.
- $60/hr for an EI to calc and a PE to check over....$100/hr for PE....$120 plus for the SE to calc
