Need a "measurable quality goal" relating to the painting of structural steel?

I am the QC Manager of a Steel Fabrication Company in the States. I am overhauling our quality control program to the newest standard and one of my requirements is that I must have at least one measurable goal that is able to be indexed and recorded. Any help possible ASAP. I want people from all areas to respond so that I can get a better pool of viewpoints.

  1. Hi. One goal is complete coverage without pits, bubbles, etc. Another is corrosion resistance. Uniformity of color, thickness, etc.
  2. I can probably help. I'm a NACE certified coating inspector and have been estimating all kinds of coating application procedures for 20 yrs. Give me details. I am located in TX, so if you want to contact me by phone, that is fine.
  3. Two other easily defined variables are acceptable paint or primer applied per square foot or per pound of steel.
