Can I bend steel frames and still get structural support from it?
I need to support some curved reinforced concrete strips that form the wall and roof of my building. (It curves from the wall and transforms into the roof). Steel frames will be the least clunky support for this structure. However, can I bend the steel frames into a curve that follows the shape of the wall/roof and still support the structure? or do I have to have straight steel I-beams going through the building. PS, i am an architecutural student trying to finish her studio work.

- i would use angle Iron with the open end down, then the will be force to the 2 outer most parts
- Basically you can but there will be some special considerations in terms of how the beams are anchored. Without seeing more details it is hard to say but the beams may turn out to be a form of cantilever beam. This is the place in a design where the architect would consult with a structural engineer on how to accomplish the requirements in the best way.
